We orient, dodge, duck, stiffen, brace, retract, fight, flee, freeze, collapse, etc. All of these coordinated responses are somatically based - they are things that the body does to protect and defend itself. It is when these orienting and defending responses are overwhelmed that we see trauma. Peter Levine

For the past 20 years I have practiced and taught somatic movement, yoga and breath work.

I firmly believe in the connection between the body, feelings and mind, and how they each inform the other.

These vital connections are key to unlocking our overall physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

Soma: The body as perceived from within. The bodies innate intelligence.

Somatics: the performance of movement for the sake of movement, focusing on the inner experience as you move,

expanding your own internal awareness and the awareness of your Self within your surroundings.
